Windsor Locks Board accepts resignations, approves budget transfer and salary increases

The Windsor Locks Board of Education on May 15 accepted the resignation of science teacher Alyssa Mancini, effective June 17, 2025, and the retirement of social studies teacher Jason Qua, effective June 30, 2025. The action was moved by Board Member A. Osorio, seconded by L. Cutler and approved unanimously.
The Board also approved Budget Transfer 2025-22, authorizing the finance department to reclassify salary savings to address a Xerox lease agreement shortfall. Director of Operations and Finance Patricia Proctor presented the transfer, which the Board accepted in a unanimous vote after a brief discussion (motion by G. Guyette; second L. Cutler).
Following an executive session convened under Connecticut General Statutes Section 1-225(a) and Section 1-200(6) to discuss non-union wage compensation and the superintendent's evaluation, the Board unanimously approved salary increases recommended by Superintendent Shawn Parkhurst for the executive assistant to the superintendent, the director of IT, the director of facilities, the executive director of human resources and the director of finance and operations (motion by L. Cutler; second G. Guyette).
The Board moved and approved the meeting minutes for the April 22, 2025 special meeting and the April 24, 2025 regular meeting (motion by L. Cutler; second A. Osorio). The special meeting adjourned at 8:01 p.m. after all agenda items were completed (motion by D. Gragnolati; second G. Guyette).
