Britt council adopts FY26 budget amendment, approves fund transfers and new credit-card policy

The Britt City Council on June 16 adopted a fiscal year 2026 budget amendment and approved three additional resolutions after a public hearing with no public comment.

Council member Hildman introduced Resolution 10-2026 to amend the FY26 budget; Council member Hiscocks seconded. A roll-call vote recorded Ayes: Hildman, Hiscocks, Stewart and Thompson; Nays: none. The council had opened a public hearing earlier in the meeting and received no public comments before closing the hearing and proceeding to the vote.

Council member Stewart introduced Resolution 11-2026 authorizing transfers of funds for fiscal year 2025–2026; Council member Hildman seconded. The motion passed on a roll-call vote with Stewart, Hildman, Thompson and Hiscocks voting Aye and no Nays.

Council member Stewart then introduced Resolution 12-2026, adopting a city credit card and charge-account policy intended to formalize use, limits and administrative procedures for city purchasing; Council member Hildman seconded. The measure passed unanimously on roll call.

Finally, Council member Thompson introduced Resolution 13-2026 to enter a 28E intergovernmental agreement with the Britt Hobo Days Association; Council member Stewart seconded and the council approved the resolution on a unanimous roll-call vote.

Mayor Jim Nelson had opened the budget-amendment public hearing earlier in the meeting; after the council closed the hearing the measures were moved and approved. The council did not record any public testimony on the amendment.

The approved budget amendment and fund-transfer resolution take effect for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, and the adopted credit-card policy establishes procedures for city purchasing and charge-account use going forward. The 28E agreement formalizes the relationship with the Britt Hobo Days Association for event coordination under the terms specified in the agreement.
