Mayor Thomas Geise opened the public hearing at 5:02 p.m. City Clerk Brittney Lentz reviewed the proposed levy, projected revenues, planned expenditures and debt-service obligations during the hearing; the minutes state that no oral or written comments were received from the public. After the review, Council Member Joseph Schmall moved and Council Member Clyde Balvanz seconded a motion to close the hearing at 5:04 p.m.; the motion carried.
On a motion by Council Member Timothy Neil, seconded by Jamison Downing, the council approved Resolution No. 2025-04, adopting the annual budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. The roll-call vote recorded Council Members Balvanz, Downing, Neil and Schmall voting in favor; Council Member Chad Shurtleff was recorded absent. The resolution passed.
The adopted budget establishes the city’s spending plan and the certified levy that will fund operations and debt service through the close of the fiscal year on June 30, 2026. The council did not receive public objections during the hearing and took final action at the April 16 meeting; the minutes include the resolution number and the formal roll-call outcome.
