Plainfield council approves permits, resolution on wages and mileage; holds first reading of golf-cart sign ordinance

At its June 16, 2025 regular meeting, the Plainfield City Council carried several routine motions and one resolution.
On a motion by Council Member Timothy Neil, seconded by Jamison Downing, the council approved the meeting agenda. The consent agenda (minutes of May 13, 2025; May 2025 financial reports; and claims for June 2025) was approved on a motion by Jamison Downing, seconded by Chad Shurtleff.
The council approved a building permit for 408 Center Street to relocate and add additional panels on the property line after written permission from adjoining property owners was filed (motion by Jamison Downing, seconded by Timothy Neil; Ayes: All).
Council approved the first reading of Ordinance 57, an amendment to the golf-cart ordinance to include a Slow-Moving-Vehicle (SMV) requirement sign. The roll call for the first reading recorded Ayes from Clyde Balvanz, Jamison Downing, Timothy Neil and Chad Shurtleff; Joseph Schmall was absent.
The council adopted Resolution No. 2025-07 setting wages and mileage reimbursement for appointed officers and employees for FY26. The roll call vote recorded Ayes from Balvanz, Downing, Neil and Shurtleff; Schmall was absent.
By motion, the council accepted the monthly department reports, and the meeting adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
