At its July 16 meeting, the Pleasantville City Council approved Resolution 24-18 to dispose of the city's interest in real estate identified as Parcel ID 2100200000. The resolution requires sale at fair market value and the council set a public hearing for Aug. 20 at 5:30 p.m.
Mayor Kody Jurgens said the lot was nonconforming and likely should have been released when adjoining property was previously purchased. He proposed writing a grant request at the same price used with East Elementary as part of the disposition process.
Michelle Greene told the council she plans to make the lot part of a second phase to her property, creating a patio area for public use and commissioning a mural on the building side. Motion to approve Resolution 24-18 and set the public hearing was made by Kyle Patterson and seconded by Aaron Hurt; the motion carried.
The council did not finalize sale terms at the meeting; the public hearing will provide a forum for further detail and formal action.
