The Plainfield City Council opened a public hearing on the FY26 proposed property tax levy at 6:01 p.m. on March 31, 2025. Mayor Thomas Geise presided, and City Clerk Brittney Lentz reviewed the proposed levy for the council.
Council Member Clyde Balvanz moved to approve the meeting agenda at the start of the special session; Jamison Downing seconded and the motion carried on a unanimous voice vote. After the staff presentation, no written or oral comments were received from residents before or during the hearing.
Council Member Joseph Schmall moved to close the public hearing at 6:04 p.m., and Timothy Neil seconded; the motion carried unanimously. Immediately afterward, Balvanz moved to adjourn the meeting, a motion seconded by Chad Shurtleff that also carried on a unanimous voice vote. The meeting was recorded as ending at 6:04 p.m.
