Library foundation reports donor growth, strategic plan and donor event

Shannon Morber, identified at the meeting as president of the library foundation board, updated trustees on recent fundraising and grant activity, saying donations and gifts have grown materially over the last two to four years and that the foundation has been able to approve increased annual grant requests from the library for staff development, materials and archival work.

Morber said she left trustees with a "case for support" and a three‑year strategic plan and invited questions. She announced a donor‑appreciation event scheduled for the coming Sunday and pointed trustees to a recent annual report online summarizing gifts and what the funding supported.

At a later report the board noted the foundation will increase its fundraising goal to $150,000 for the next year, reflecting successful recent campaigns. Morber offered to answer follow‑up questions and said the foundation sees trustees and staff as partners and ambassadors in cultivating donors.

What happens next: trustees and staff will continue coordinating with the foundation on grant requests and donor engagement; the foundation event will provide an opportunity for trustees and staff to meet donors in person.
