Visit Casper details wayfinding, Hell's Halfacre improvements and tourism metrics

Annette Pitts, chief executive officer of Visit Casper, gave commissioners a semiannual update on April 21, highlighting completed and near-complete projects funded by destination-development awards and grants.
Pitts said the county’s wayfinding signage for Casper Mountain and Muddy Mountain is nearly installed and that projects at Hell’s Halfacre — including a new boardwalk, viewing platform, interpretive signage and a pit toilet — were completed with roughly $300,000 in combined destination-development and grant funding.
Visit Casper has begun monthly performance reporting and published a tourism scorecard on its website with occupancy, average daily rate and marketing KPIs. Pitts said the organization has also invested in a low-cost grant service to identify funding opportunities and is preparing three marketing videos this year on outdoor recreation, local history and doing business in Natrona County.
Pitts said Visit Casper is participating in planning for the county’s 250th celebration, supporting CNFR contract renewal conversations and conducting outreach around an upcoming optional lodging tax vote. She asked the commission to consider tourism-experienced candidates when making future board appointments and offered the organization’s help with recruitment.
Commissioners thanked Visit Casper for partnership on projects including Hell’s Halfacre and the recent county-hosted county clerks’ meeting, and encouraged continued collaboration on CNFR and event programming.
