A long-serving committee member told the planning committee she will not renew her appointment after decades of service and that her term extends through March 31.
"I've decided I'm not gonna renew my appointment," the staff member said, adding she had been on the planning board for over 25 years and on the committee for additional years and would remain available to hand over files and answer questions during her pending medical procedures.
Committee members thanked her for her service and discussed the reorganization process, noting that a formal appointment process should be posted on an agenda and that the town administrator's office handles recruitment and posting of openings. Members asked about the number of alternates allowed and agreed to coordinate with the town administrator and the website keeper to advertise openings.
The committee did not take formal action on replacements at the meeting; members said they will include reorganization as an agenda item and seek full committee presence for any formal appointments.
