The Lincoln County Planning Commission on May 4, 2026, in the basement conference room of the county courthouse approved a series of plats, business permits and home-occupation permits and denied one application that did not meet zoning criteria. The meeting ran from 6:00 p.m. to 6:37 p.m. and included routine staff reports and one informational update on the county Growth Plan.
Chairman Daniel Eldridge opened the meeting and Planner Traci Perkins read staff reports for each agenda item. The commission approved SR2026-1 (Preliminary/Final Plat and Construction Site Certification updates) and a revision to Stiles PHS 2 (SD 2 lot) after motions and seconds from commissioners and unanimous votes as recorded in the minutes.
On Old Business the commission considered an application for Major Distribution LLC (tobacco and vapor vending, associated with Teesateskie and McCoy). Co-Chair David Sanders moved to approve the application; Grad Wright seconded. The motion was recorded as approved, with one commissioner, Cole Blocker, recorded as casting a dissenting vote.
The commission considered three G Bradley items (Shady Grove, Hwy 64N and Hwy 64S) together; Commissioner Shelton Smith moved to approve the consolidated action, Cole Blocker seconded, and the commission approved the three items.
The body approved a series of home-occupation permits: Healing Vibes (550 Mimosa Rd), Bronzed By Brooke (70 Old Huntsville Rd), Fresh Squeezed Lemonade (6934 Bunker Hill Rd), Big Momma’s Lemonade and More (27 Plada Heights), ALCLS, LLC d/b/a Blueprint Studio (732 Shelbyville Hwy), Mike Ferguson Lawncare (19 Holland Rd), Wildcard Services (156 Monks Rd), and NTM Lawn and Landscape (29 N King Rd). Motions to approve each were made and seconded as recorded in the minutes and recorded as approved by the commission.
One home-occupation application was denied: the application for Justin Bates at 258 Prospect Rd was denied after discussion. Planner Perkins’ staff report and subsequent discussion showed the commission concluded the repair work described in the application was not performed in the principal residence and no accessory structure was present on the property; Commissioner Mike Bevels moved to deny and Cole Blocker seconded. The minutes record the denial.
Chairman Eldridge provided an informational update on the Lincoln County Growth Plan; no formal action was recorded on that item. With no further business, Commissioner Jimmy Sumners moved to adjourn; Cole Blocker seconded and the meeting adjourned at 6:37 p.m.
