The Foley City Planning Commission on April 15 conditionally approved site plans for two commercial projects on South McKenzie Street.
Gulf Self Storage. Planning staff recommended conditional approval of the site plan for Gulf Self Storage, located at 3501 S. McKenzie St.; the motion to approve was made by Commissioner Larry Engel, seconded by Commissioner Deborah Mixon, and passed unanimously.
United Bank. The commission also considered a site plan for United Bank at 516 S. McKenzie St. City Engineer Taylor Davis told the commission that the Engineering Department recommends the case move forward "for all phases," allowing the applicant to proceed into technical design review with a land development permit. Commissioner Engel moved to approve, Commissioner Vera Quaites seconded; the motion passed with all commissioners voting aye.
Next steps. Both approvals are conditional. For United Bank, the developer will proceed into technical design review and address any engineering comments during the land development permit review. Gulf Self Storage will similarly be subject to the conditions noted by staff.
