At a Special Town Meeting Sept. 22 at Sayles School, voters approved a $52,047.38 appropriation to repair the town’s 1989 Fedmont ladder truck.
The appropriation was introduced as Item #2 when Robert Tardif moved to discuss the request for repairs. Moderator John Malone asked that participants “route discussion through the moderator and not person‑to‑person,” and after limited discussion Catherine Osten moved to close debate; Barbara Crouch seconded and the motion to end discussion carried.
The item was decided by paper ballot. Clerk Jennifer M. Synnett read the results as 21 Yes and 7 No, approving the expenditure. The appropriation covers repair costs for the 1989 Fedmont ladder truck; the transcript lists the requested amount as $52,047.38.
The meeting also completed routine business, including the election of John Malone as moderator. The session adjourned at 7:50 PM.
