Bozrah Food Pantry reports 221 baskets in 2025; December police activity noted in monthly report

The Bozrah Food Pantry reported that it prepared and distributed 221 food baskets in 2025, including 192 weekly baskets and 29 holiday baskets (six Easter, 14 Thanksgiving and nine Christmas), according to a December report submitted to the Board of Selectmen.
Food Pantry coordinator Tom Ververis reported that in the referenced week the pantry prepared 17 weekly food baskets for 12 different Bozrah families (35 adults and 23 children). "The schedule of participants submitting requests by Wednesdays and pickups on Thursdays is working well," Ververis wrote in the report and listed donations from local businesses, churches and residents.
The pantry report included recent purchase totals (about $107.84 on the debit card and smaller gift‑card uses) and gift‑card balances for Stop & Shop, Walmart and ShopRite. The report also listed cash donations and a $600 check from Janet Cosenza among contributors.
The Connecticut State Police attachment included monthly metrics for December 2025: 73 calls for service that month with an average response time of about 16.8 minutes and average time to clear of about 40.4 minutes. The attachment also provided a link to the NIBRS data portal for Bozrah.
The board received these reports as part of the monthly materials; no formal votes were taken on the reports at the Jan. 20 meeting.
