Board adopts three policy revisions on sex offenders, bus cameras and exemption from instruction

Trustee Thomas Buzzi moved to adopt Policy 3516.5 (Sexual Offenders on School Property), Policy 3541.313 (Video Cameras on School Transportation) and new Policy 6144.1 (Instruction — Exemption from Instruction). The motion was seconded by Timothy Russell and passed unanimously.
Board members did not provide extended debate on the floor during the meeting; the vote recorded the policies as adopted and the policies will be incorporated into district governance documents and published following standard administrative processing.
Why it matters: the three items cover student- and staff-safety-related rules (sex-offender access and bus-camera policy) and an instructional exemption policy that sets conditions under which students may be excused from particular instructional content or activities. The board provided the formal second reading and adoption at the May 5 meeting.
