At its Feb. 24 meeting the New Hartford Board of Education voted unanimously on two Connecticut State Department of Education Healthy Food Certification items required for school year 2026–27 under C.G.S. Section 10‑215f. Vote 1 certified the district will comply with Connecticut Nutrition Standards for all food sold to students; Vote 2 approved limited exemptions for sales at events outside the regular school day and meeting the stated conditions.
The board also unanimously approved several second‑read policy revisions: Policy 3320 (Purchasing Procedures), Policies 4152.6 / 4252.6 (Family and Medical Leave Act procedures), Policy 6171 (Special Education instruction), Policy 9132 (Bylaws — Standing Committees) and Policy 9230 (Bylaws — Orientation of Board Members). The approvals followed standard second‑read procedures and were passed without recorded opposition.
The motions were moved and seconded by board members and recorded as unanimous actions in the meeting minutes.
