City Manager: traffic-signal equipment delayed; lower Carlisle watermain bids to open next week

City Manager Chris Lohr updated Carlisle City Council at its Nov. 12 meeting on two capital projects and an agenda change.
Lohr said equipment delays are affecting the Central and Union traffic signal; signal heads and related equipment are expected to ship in early December while the delivery schedule for poles remains pending. He said staff hopes installation can be completed before year-end if remaining components arrive on schedule.
Lohr also reported the lower Carlisle watermain project is out for bid and that bids will be opened next Thursday. He said staff plans to return to council the following Tuesday with a recommendation so the city can award the contract this year and encumber available COVID-19 relief funds toward the project.
Finally, Lohr requested that the executive session listed on the meeting agenda be moved to Nov. 26 because two council members were excused from the Nov. 12 meeting. Council voted to amend the agenda and reschedule the executive session to the Nov. 26 meeting.
