Kinder described planned renovations, new seating and a community focus: he said families could bring children after youth games and receive a free scoop of ice cream, and said he hoped to open in the coming months after interior work and permitting.
Separately, council appointed Bonnie Chandler to the Parks & Recreation Board on a motion from Mr. Faulkner, seconded by Mr. Kilpatrick; roll call votes were unanimous.
No formal liquor‑license hearing or council objection was recorded on Aug. 13; council members expressed general encouragement to the applicant and welcomed Chandler to the Parks board.
