The Board of Lincoln County Commissioners on May 4 approved two contracts with the Wyoming Department of Public Health and signed a Drug Free Communities grant application.
Patrice Baker, Public Health Nurse for Lincoln County, presented the agreements to the board. Baker said one contract allocates $62,000 for emergency preparedness work and a separate contract would provide funding for a COVID-19 vaccination campaign not to exceed $196,045. The commission approved Baker’s request and authorized signatures through motions recorded on the consent agenda.
Brittany Ritter, a county prevention specialist, also presented the Drug Free Communities Grant Application and described recent prevention efforts, including TIPS trainings, outreach to municipalities about proposed liquor-license statute changes and mental-health first-aid training. The board moved to sign the Drug Free Communities paperwork during the same consent vote.
Commissioner Harmon moved to approve the consent items that included the public-health contracts and the grant application; the motion was adopted. No additional conditions or restrictions on the contracts were recorded in the meeting minutes. The county clerk will retain the signed contracts and grant application as part of the county record.
Next steps: county staff will proceed with execution of the contracts and grant paperwork and coordinate any required reporting with the Wyoming Department of Public Health.
