County hears updates on CDC grant, TIPS training and COCO fuels grant extension

Public-health and prevention staff provided program updates and grant details during the Nov. 2 meeting.
Brittany Ritter, Prevention Specialist, discussed a CDC Grant Delivery Agreement, reported that TIPS (training for intervention procedures) training had been held for Pine Creek Ski Resort LLC and outlined plans to implement a county mental-health services program. Ritter also noted community observances, including Suicide Survivor Day in Afton on Nov. 20.
Fuels Mitigation Coordinator Patty Pringle reported that the COCO grant would be extended to Jan. 31, 2022, and that approximately $15,000 remained in the grant fund. The board accepted a change order to extend the grant term as part of the consent agenda.
