The Board of Lincoln County Commissioners voted Sept. 7 to rescind county fire-closure restrictions and approved the day’s consent agenda, including minutes, assessment-roll changes and vendor vouchers.
Commissioner Hansen moved to rescind the fire closures effective immediately; the motion was adopted. At the same meeting Commissioner Harmon moved to approve the consent agenda and to sign ad valorem tax-exemption applications for Foundation Energy Management, Exxon Mobil Oil Corp., XTO Energy and Wapiti Operating; those motions were adopted.
County Treasurer Jerry Greenfield presented the exemption forms and later cautioned that prior tax-payment schedules can compound and leave county distributions short at the end of the fiscal year. Greenfield said he would work with Kemmerer Operations’ controller, Mike Memmott, to draft an agreement that matures in June to avoid distribution impacts.
Commissioner Hansen opened the meeting with a moment of remembrance for the Sept. 11 attacks, asking the room to pause and saying, "May we never forget." The Board recessed briefly mid-morning before resuming routine business.
The meeting record shows routine approvals and the executed exemption filings; the transcript does not show any vote tallies by individual commissioner beyond the recorded motions and the chair’s acknowledgment that the motions were adopted. The Board adjourned the Sept. 7 session at 2:05 p.m.
