Flooding damages courthouse cameras; Turning Point basement flood triggers insurance claim

Lincoln County facilities staff reported flood damage at the courthouse the weekend before the Aug. 3 meeting and the loss of eight security cameras after a power outage.
Matt Mochel, Physical Facilities Manager, presented photos of the courthouse flooding and described cleanup efforts. Mochel said eight security cameras were lost when the power outage occurred during the event.
Bobbie Orcutt, director of Turning Point, reported that the Turning Point building also experienced basement flooding in July. Orcutt said the organization is pursuing a more permanent solution to prevent further damage, and that a claim has been filed with WARM; the deductible will be split between Turning Point and the county.
County staff did not record emergency declarations or additional funding approvals at the meeting; both items were presented to the board for awareness and follow-up.
The commission did not take formal emergency action during the meetings recorded here; staff indicated they would pursue repairs and insurance processing.
