Shar Perry, County Coordinator and 4‑H Educator, told the commissioners Dec. 7 that the county 4‑H program currently enrolls 95 members and 25 leaders, reviewed program highlights, fundraising and grants, and updated the board on Cent$ible Nutrition and Ag Department programs.
Shaily Painter, 4‑H Educator, reported the shooting sports building had received fire marshal approval and presented enrollment numbers. Volunteer Shooting Sports Leader Philip Lockwood described the program's focus on firearm safety, historical shooting locations and the benefits to youth instruction. The board agreed to move forward with a letter of support to assist the program's advancement.
The commissioners recorded the item as an agency update and authorized a letter of support; no formal financial appropriation was made during the meeting.
