Sterling Board of Education approves consent agenda, budget report and shared services agreement

The Sterling Board of Education on Jan. 15 approved its consent agenda, accepted the district’s Budget and Expense Report and voted to adopt a Shared Services Agreement with the Town of Sterling. The meeting was called to order by Board Chair Courtney Langlois at 6:01 p.m.
Board Vice Chair Jennifer Mossner moved to approve the Consent Agenda, and Vice Treasurer Victoria Robinson-Lewis seconded; the motion passed with all in favor. The Consent Agenda listed six items, including the Dec. 18, 2024 minutes and routine reports from the superintendent, special education director, principal and clinical supervisor.
Business Manager Sara Howley reported on the 2023–24 audit, discussed the 2024–25 budget and grants and said she is continuing to monitor all line items. Following that update, Vice Treasurer Victoria Robinson-Lewis moved to approve the Budget and Expense Report as presented; Treasurer Dorothy Capobianco seconded and the vote was unanimous.
The board also reviewed a Shared Services Agreement with the Town of Sterling. Board Member John Brady moved to approve the agreement and Vice Chair Jennifer Mossner seconded; the motion carried with all in favor.
Chair Langlois noted that the Plainfield Board of Education had approved its 2025–26 school-year calendar and asked Board Clerk Christine Chandler to obtain a copy for Sterling. The board recorded no personnel resignations or retirements at this meeting.
