At its Dec. 10 meeting, the Olds City Council voted to postpone indefinitely the readings of Ordinance 01-2025 and scheduled a special meeting for Dec. 22, 2025 to consider personnel-related legal options.
Councilmember Jason Waterhouse moved to postpone Ordinance 01-2025 and Councilmember Jim Rohde seconded; the minutes record that the ordinance committee will prepare a list of proposed changes for the council’s next meeting and that the postponement carried 4 ayes.
The council also approved Resolution 2025-10, "Tim Breuer Council Appreciation," on a motion moved by Jim Rohde and seconded by Jason Waterhouse; the minutes record the resolution passed 4 ayes.
A separate motion from Councilmember Jason Waterhouse, seconded by Councilmember Sheila Tharp, directed staff to present four legal options to the relevant personnel and set a special meeting on Dec. 22 at 6:30 p.m. to decide which option to accept and whether any council vacancies must be filled. That motion passed with a recorded tally of 3 ayes and 1 nay; the minutes explicitly identify Jim Rohde as the lone nay. The minutes do not record the full roll-call votes for the three affirmative votes.
The meeting adjourned after a motion from Sheila Tharp and second from Theresa Willey; the minutes record 4 ayes. The special meeting on Dec. 22 is intended to resolve the personnel matter and any ensuing vacancies.
