St. Clair County weighs grant administrator and readies $1 million EPA-funded water project

The discussion also covered an award allocated to Coosa Valley: “we got a million dollars as a CDS appropriation last year,” Mr. Hill said, noting the community will need help completing a formal grant application and the administrative paperwork that accompanies EPA-linked funds. Mr. Hill said administrative fees are expected to be modest and estimated “between five and seven thousand dollars,” and commissioners asked staff to return with firm quotes at the next work session.
Commissioners accepted a $15,000 grant from Smart Growth America for the Complete Streets Leadership Academy, which will be allocated to Moody and Springville; Odenville declined participation. The commission also approved issuing an RFQ tied to ARC municipal capacity work and accepted a $2,500 America250 award earlier in the meeting.
