Town Manager Janice McKenzie Cole used the April 24 work session to update the council on several upcoming community and regional items.
Cole said the July 2 fireworks display will be funded by equal $500 contributions from the county, the tourism development authority (TDA) and the town. Rather than inviting commercial food trucks, the town will give local churches and organizations the opportunity to cook and sell plates at the event.
Cole also noted she was asked to be a keynote speaker on May 2 in Williamston to discuss the UAL list and related challenges. She reported Harbor Towns has created uniform signage for placement across the five towns that comprise that regional partnership.
These items were presented as managerial updates; no formal council action was recorded beyond scheduling and informational acknowledgments. Staff will carry out logistics and report back as needed.
