Hertford submits proposed FY2023-24 budget to LGC, schedules May 22 public hearing

Town Manager Janice McKenzie Cole introduced the proposed budget. Councilman Jerry Mimlitsch moved to submit the proposed FY2023-24 budget to the Local Government Commission (LGC) and to schedule a public hearing on May 22, 2023; Councilwoman Connie Brothers seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Council members did not record detailed public comment or substantive amendments to the proposed budget during the work session. The scheduled public hearing will be the formal opportunity for public review and comment prior to budget adoption.
The council’s action sends the budget through the standard review process with the LGC and sets the town’s required public hearing date; further changes, if any, will be considered after the LGC review and during the public hearing process.
