The Marlborough Board of Education Policy Subcommittee met Dec. 19 at Elmer Thienes‑Mary Hall Elementary School to review proposed revisions to district policy P# 5145.53, titled “Transgender and Gender Non‑Conforming Youth.” The meeting was called to order at 5:32 p.m., and board members Kerri Barella, Angela Colantonio and Amy Kuhrt were listed as present; Dr. Holly Hageman, superintendent, was noted as administration.
During the committee’s review, members discussed suggested modifications to P# 5145.53. The minutes state the committee will reconvene in January to consider combining policy 0521 and policy 5145.53 and to continue reviewing the proposed changes. The subgroup scheduled its next policy meeting for Jan. 23.
No formal vote on the substance of the policy revisions was recorded in the minutes. The only formal action documented was a motion to adjourn: Board member Amy Kuhrt moved to adjourn at 5:52 p.m.; the motion was seconded by Kerri Barella and approved unanimously (MOTION CARRIED).
