Marlborough school board hears community input on elementary school budget

The Marlborough Board of Education held a community conversation on Nov. 7, 2024, at Elmer Thienes–Mary Hall Elementary School, where Board Chair Kerri Barella invited residents to share perspectives on funding priorities for Marlborough Elementary School ahead of the 2025–26 budget development process.
The meeting served as an opportunity for trustees and district administrators to hear public input. Chair Kerri Barella encouraged community members to raise questions and comments; the board listened and answered questions about funding priorities. An informational handout was distributed at the meeting and was posted on the MES website on the 2025–26 Budget Development page under the Budget tab.
Board members present included Chair Kerri Barella and board members Sue Stolfi, Amy Kuhrt and Chip Morris. District administrators in attendance included Dr. Holly Hageman, superintendent; Paula Graef, principal; Kristen Trahan, principal; John Mercier, director of operations; and Dan White, pupil services director. The minutes record that the board did not take formal votes or make motions during the session; it functioned as a listening and information-gathering event ahead of the annual budget process.
The special meeting began at 6:31 p.m. and adjourned at 7:17 p.m. The district posted the handout and related materials on the Marlborough Elementary School 2025–26 Budget Development page for residents who could not attend.
