Albertville council unanimously approves minutes, two resolutions and an ordinance limiting police jurisdiction

The Albertville City Council met June 2 and unanimously approved several routine and policy items, including a funding agreement and a watershed planning authorization, and passed an ordinance narrowing the city’s police jurisdiction.

Councilman Bender opened closing comments and Councilman Bailey led the pledge and an opening prayer. There were no requests for public comment. During closing comments, Councilman Navarro thanked public safety and service personnel for assistance after his father’s recent death and described his family’s long service to the Albertville community: "I want to thank all our public uh safety and service men and women that police and fire that helped the past months with my father. I lost my father this week. We buried him yesterday..." Mayor Hony welcomed Kevin O'Connell, recently appointed as the Boaz Economic Development Director; O'Connell said he was "looking forward to working with everybody" and pledged to reach out to the community.
