Tony W. also relayed a practical concern about drop boxes: he described a voter who thought the ballot did not fit because she tried to insert it into the lock/key opening rather than the accessible slot, and suggested measures such as signage or taping to avoid future confusion.
The chair and staff thanked the commenter and acknowledged they would look into the drop-box situation and consider the request to schedule public comment time on elections. No online commenters joined during the stand-by period.
What’s next: the commission asked staff to stand by for online public comments through 10:45 a.m. on the meeting date; staff will review the drop-box layout and advise the commission if further action or signage is recommended.
