Library Board seeks Memorial Garden overhaul ahead of Beaman’s 150th celebration

Tony Pieper, president of the Library Board, and Dana Brown, the new library director following Sarah Doughtery’s retirement, updated the Beaman City Council on plans to renovate the Library’s Memorial Garden.
Pieper said the board had solicited bids for work that would include edging, placement of rock and fresh mulching. The Library Board is moving forward with the project in time for the city’s 150th celebration; council members expressed approval of the Board’s initiative.
No formal funding decisions or votes on the garden were recorded during the meeting. Council members said they looked forward to the work and to seeing the Memorial Garden updated for the anniversary event.
