Milo council approves egg hunt funding, spring cleanup, volunteer awards and leak-detection program

On Feb. 2 the Milo City Council approved a slate of community events, awards and a maintenance program during its regular meeting.
Councilmember Rasmussen moved and the council approved March 28, 2026 (rain date April 4) as the Milo Annual Egg Hunt, noting People’s Bank will spearhead the event and the city will provide $400 for candy. The council also approved April 24–25, 2026 as the Milo Citywide Spring Cleanup and directed the clerk to publish information in the city newsletter and post flyers.
Council approved Rodgers’ motion, seconded by Amsden, to name June Coffman and Sarah Goode as the 2025 Milo Volunteers of the Year and directed the clerk to arrange awards and a presentation at a future meeting.
In reports under old business, Maintenance Director Doug Hembry said Milo will participate in a Warren Water program to locate water leaks inside the city; the estimated cost to the city is about $1,200. The council approved routine consent items earlier in the meeting, including accounts payable totaling $63,772.38 and the meeting minutes of Jan. 19, 2026.
The council adjourned at 8:48 p.m.; its next regular meeting is scheduled for Feb. 16, 2026 at 7:00 p.m.
