Maintenance director warns new TRM Disposal trucks could damage Milos street edges; mayor to contact company

Milos city maintenance director raised concerns about street-edge deterioration after the city reviewed an upcoming trash and recycling schedule change. Council reviewed information from TRM Disposal that collection will move to Tuesdays beginning March 31, 2026. Maintenance Director Doug Hembry told the council that the companys new trucks, which use a loading arm, would run along the curb twice and may cause the asphalt edge to deteriorate.
Hembry told council members he believed repeated passes along the asphalt edge could accelerate wear and asked the council to address the issue with the contractor. Mayor Hall said he will contact TRM Disposal to convey the citys concerns and seek clarification on how the company plans to protect Milos road surfaces.
Council did not take formal action at the meeting beyond directing the mayor to contact TRM Disposal. The issue was recorded for follow-up and possible operational mitigation before the March 31 start date.
