Salem Township supervisors on Jan. 21 authorized an emergency declaration and contracts for immediate traffic‑signal repairs after vehicle accidents damaged poles at multiple intersections.
The board approved an emergency declaration based on a township recommendation that repairs be made immediately, then authorized the Standard Form of Agreement with Bronder Technical Services to repair the Route 22 & Route 819 intersection and separately to repair Route 22 and Hollywood Boulevard. Both contract approvals were recorded as subject to final review and approval by the township solicitor. The township reported a partial reimbursement from its insurance carrier for the damage.
Kerry Jobe said Ryan Thomas of MBM Law had revised the agreement to include a paragraph about contractual termination; the board noted it could not complete final contract signing until the solicitor reviewed the revisions.
All motions were approved unanimously. The board instructed staff to coordinate with the solicitor and with the insurance company to complete repairs promptly and to return the final agreements once legal review is complete.
