Resident raises camper fire safety concerns; council to consult city attorney

Milo — A Milo resident used the public comment period at the Jan. 5 city council meeting to press council members on local safety and parking concerns.
Resident Joe Jordan told the council about a recent camper fire near his residence that he said "may have involved occupants." Mayor Hall responded that she would consult the city attorney to determine whether existing city ordinance provisions adequately address the circumstances Jordan described.
Following the comment, Councilmember Rasmussen briefly raised the junk vehicle ordinance and illegal parking on Oak Street as related enforcement concerns. The council did not take immediate enforcement action during the meeting; Mayor Hall’s consultation with the city attorney was recorded as the next step.
The council is scheduled to meet again on Jan. 19 at City Hall; any follow-up from the attorney consult would appear on a future agenda if formal direction or ordinance action is recommended.
