Several residents used the public‑comment period at the Feb. 17 Missouri Valley City Council meeting to urge action and to promote community events.
Jeannie Wortman described plans for Community Clean‑Up and Recycle Day, Hop‑into‑Spring and the Chamber Awards Banquet and encouraged council support. Sheila Phillips raised concerns about nuisance enforcement, saying it is “not being handled properly” and asked the council to work with the city attorney.
Council member Tuttle responded during the meeting that, in his view, there has been no city presence at nuisance hearings. The council did not take formal action on nuisance enforcement at the meeting; Phillips’s request was recorded as public comment.
The council also agreed, at the request of Lacey Ardery, to allow Harrison County Public Health to use the pool parking lot for a helicopter landing and to turn on water in the park for a Public Health Fair scheduled for April 11, 2026.
