Commissioners approve vehicle sales, cancel unused purchase orders and open bids for fire department building

The Pittsburg County Board of County Commissioners on June 15 approved a set of administrative actions that included awarding two surplus vehicle sales, adopting multiple resolutions to cancel unused purchase orders and declaring certain equipment junk, and opening bids for a fire department building.
Vehicle sales: The board awarded the sale of a 2005 Chevrolet 1500 pickup (District 2) to Austin Burge for $5,300 after staff reported the successful bid. The board also awarded the 1993 AM General M35A3 6x6 cargo truck (asset ID referenced by staff) to Oklahoma Rural Fire for $6,625.25 following a letter of recommendation from Kiowa Fire Department. Motions to award both sales passed unanimously.
Inventory and purchase‑order actions: The board approved Resolution 26‑292 to remove a 2019 Ford Explorer (B‑883, VIN 1FM5K7B80KGA15826) from inventory and record sale proceeds ($8,976.50) to the jail account. The board also approved Resolution 26‑293 (cancel PO 3249 — Pittsburg Fire Department), Resolution 26‑294 (cancel multiple Emergency Management POs), Resolution 26‑295 (cancel multiple Health Department POs) and Resolution 26‑296 to declare a bunker gear set junk for Arrowhead Fire Department. Each resolution was read and approved unanimously.
Bid opening: At the 10:00 a.m. bid opening the board received two bids for Bid No. 19 (re‑advertise construction of a fire department building): K&B General Construction at $81,627 and Buck Shot Builders at $150,000 (the latter bid lacked a bid bond). The board accepted the bids as opened and postponed award pending review by the fire department; Selman told a public questioner the award should take a week or two while the fire department reviews the bids.
All of the above motions carried by unanimous vote of the three commissioners. Staff will process the sale documents, the resolutions for county inventory records, and forward the construction bids to the reviewing fire department.
