The Pittsburg County Board of Commissioners on June 15 approved Change Order No. 1 for Project No. 2026‑BID2 (courthouse carpet installation) to add previously omitted spaces and change the District Attorney first‑floor lobby surface to luxury vinyl plank (LVP).
Sandra Crenshaw, presenting the item, said the carpet for the DA first floor and Judge Mills’ jury room were mistakenly left out of the original bid and recommended converting the DA lobby to LVP because "it is very hard to keep clean." Crenshaw presented a vendor breakdown from Kelley Interiors showing carpet costs of $8,493.25 and LVP costs of $3,750.61 for a total change order of $12,243.86; she told the board the total increase is less than the 10% change‑order allowance in the contract.
Commissioner Selman moved to approve the change order and Commissioner Haynes seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The board did not alter the selection of vendor; Kelley Interiors remains the contractor for the installation. The change order will be incorporated into the project contract and processed through the county claims and purchase‑order workflow.
No public comment was recorded on the change order at the June 15 session.
