Committee backs SB 79-related zoning changes to ease affordable housing development

Several neighborhood residents also asked that the city complete emergency-access studies and other local analyses before projects proceed; one resident from Studio City expressly asked that emergency access be studied prior to advancing the project in that neighborhood.
Outcome: The committee voted to adopt the staff recommendation for Item 10 as part of the consensus items; the roll call recorded unanimous committee approval for consent items that included Item 10.
Next steps: With committee approval, implementing departments will proceed with ordinance amendments and any required follow-up studies described in the staff report. Implementation details and any technical code amendments will be carried out by Planning and other relevant departments.
