Shelby City Council approves consent agenda, authorizes chemical feed pumps and tables development items

The Shelby City Council, presided over by Mayor Kroll, approved its March 4, 2025 agenda and consent agenda and authorized the purchase of two chemical feed pumps, the council reported at its regular session Monday night.
Councilmember Pat Honeywell moved to approve the meeting agenda; Councilmember Karen Schlueter seconded, Mayor Kroll called for conflicts of interest and none were declared, and the motion carried after a roll call vote. Later, on a motion by Councilmember Karen Schlueter, seconded by Councilmember Pat Honeywell, the consent agenda—comprising corrected minutes, the treasurer's report and authorization to pay bills—was approved by roll call; the council recorded "all ayes; motion carried." The minutes correction noted that Councilmember Jackie Hursey had requested budget funds for landscaping around a dry pond in The Meadows subdivision.
The council approved an ACCO quote to purchase two chemical feed pumps in the amount of $4,102.20 after a motion by Councilmember Pat Honeywell and a second from Councilmember Jackie Hursey; council records say the motion passed with "all ayes."
Several substantive items were postponed because of weather. The council tabled four items to the March 18 meeting: a housing proposal from Jamie Somerville; discussion and a proposed development agreement for the Industrial site; a street-conditions analysis/update on M16; and the SWIPCO Thriving Communities application. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m. on a motion by Councilmember Pat Honeywell, seconded by Councilmember Karen Schlueter.
