Dodge County reports 54 inmates; 10 are on ICE holds, county says

At its March 5 meeting, the Dodge County Board of Supervisors, convening earlier as the Board of Corrections, heard an inmate population update showing 54 people in custody and 184 bookings in February.
Supervisor Beam told the board that of the 54 people currently in custody, 36 are being housed in Saunders County, 13 in Washington County, two at the Lincoln Regional Center and three with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. Beam also said 10 inmates are being held on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainers and that staff are working with receiving jurisdictions to manage placements.
County Attorney Hopkins told supervisors her office is expediting proceedings for detainees with ICE holds but said Dodge County will continue to house those inmates until there is a federal resolution. No changes to housing or transfer policies were announced at the meeting.
The board recessed the corrections session and reconvened as the Board of Supervisors at 9:07 A.M. The board set the next Board of Corrections meeting for March 19, 2025.
