Dodge County Board of Equalization lowers valuations on 112 parcels, denies changes on 158 and adds emergency destroyed-property item

The Dodge County Board of Equalization met July 17, 2024, and reconvened July 19, and resolved a large batch of property valuation protests while adding an emergency destroyed-property item to the agenda for its July 24 meeting.
Chairman Missel called the first session to order at 9:00 A.M. on July 17 in the Board Room of the Dodge County Courthouse in Fremont. The Board unanimously declared the meeting legally convened and unanimously approved the agenda as printed.
The Board unanimously received a Report of Destroyed Real Property (Form 425) submitted by Jo Ann Mitteis and declared it an emergency agenda item because the Board is required to act on the form by July 25, 2024. The Board added that item for action on its July 24 meeting agenda.
During the July 17 session the Board acted on 160 property valuation protests for 2024, lowering valuations on 69 parcels and denying changes for 91 parcels. The meeting recessed at 10:25 A.M. and was scheduled to reconvene on Friday, July 19.
When the Board reconvened at 9:04 A.M. on July 19, members resumed consideration of protests. The Board took action on 111 protests that day: it lowered valuations for 43 parcels, denied changes for 67 parcels, and acknowledged that protest #325 had been withdrawn.
Chairman Missel adjourned the Board as a Board of Equalization on July 19 at 9:40 A.M., scheduling the next Board of Equalization meeting for 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 (with the Board of Supervisors meeting beginning at 9:00 A.M.).
