Dodge County supervisors approve payroll and nearly $1 million in financial claims

The Dodge County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved payroll and county financial claims during its regular meeting Oct. 16, 2024, authorizing $310,683.76 in wage and hour claims and $960,212.88 in financial claims.
The approvals came after the Board opened at 9 a.m. with a roll call and the filing of county officials’ reports, Treasurer Winterstein’s certification of return of tax sale proceedings, various revenue-and-expense statements, and an Oath of Office for a Fremont Community Health Resources Board of Trustees member. Chairman Missel noted the meeting was declared legally convened and that open meeting law notices were posted.
Supervisor Weddle abstained earlier when the Board approved minutes from the Oct. 2 meeting because he was not present at that session; all other formal approvals reported in the minutes were unanimous. The Board also received correspondence and certificates of insurance from several vendors and agencies and acknowledged that a corrected probation billing letter should be obtained when an outside letter misidentified the county referenced.
The Board recessed briefly to sit as the Board of Corrections and returned to county business after a report from Supervisor Beam on jail population and bookings. The Board adjourned the regular session until Oct. 30, 2024.
Actions recorded in the minutes show formal, unanimous votes to approve the listed claims and to accept agenda items and reports for the official record.
