Student presents 'Little Chargers Climb' early‑childhood outreach partnership with Griffin Hospital

At the May 14 meeting, student presenter Kayla Jarrin introduced 'Little Chargers Climb,' a capstone project aimed at building early‑childhood connections between the district and community partners.
Assistant Superintendent Steve Bergin introduced Jarrin, who said the project began with a partnership with Griffin Hospital and includes distribution of goody bags to every Ansonia family giving birth at Griffin. Jarrin said Emma Schrober’s Transition Program students will assemble the bags and that the initiative links to the Footsteps to Brilliance program to support early learning. She shared committee feedback and said the recommendations in her capstone will be implemented to strengthen community resources for young children.
Special Education Director Stephanie Savo thanked transition students for preparing goody bags and noted related compliance and programming steps. The board thanked Jarrin for the presentation.
