Superintendent DiBacco told the Board the Policy Committee worked with the law firm Shipman & Goodman to pare more than 600 existing policies down to roughly 120 and presented a motion "to comprehensively revise the Board’s policies" by repealing and adopting policies as listed in Appendices A–C. The motion passed unanimously.
The Board also approved use of Pine Trust funds for programs such as Project Lead The Way and the Sikorsky STEM Challenge; accepted meeting minutes for March 11 and March 12; set Ansonia High School graduation for June 7 at 10:00 a.m. (to be held at Seymour High School); and approved replacing the Prendergast memorial tree sign. The board voted to make June 6 and June 9 half days to close the school year.
Board President Rich Bshara and other members cast the recorded yes votes on each item; the meeting record shows each of the listed motions passed by a 4–0 tally. Where the record indicates a motion carried without recorded opposition, the board did not identify separate movers or seconders in the minutes.
After discussing student‑discipline matters in executive session, the board returned to accept the superintendent’s recommendations regarding expulsions; that motion also passed by the same recorded vote. The meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
