Sharon wetlands commission grants extension for 6 Weeds Dam Road; requests site plan by March 2

Vice Chairman Scott Schrieber called the Town of Sharon Inland Wetland & Watercourse Commission to order Feb. 9, 2026. The commission considered an extension request from owner Mark Orth for a previously approved structure at 6 Weeds Dam Road, which lies mostly within the commission's 200-foot jurisdiction.

The commission accepted Orth's written extension request after discussing outstanding information needed for the file. Member Sharon Tingley moved to grant the extension; Robin Zitter seconded and the motion was recorded as "all in favor." The minutes show the commission requested a precise site plan that includes the proposed structure size, driveway location, amounts of fill and excavation, and proposed stockpiling, and set a submission deadline of March 2, 2026.

The minutes note that a 28-foot by 60-foot building, with associated septic, well and driveway, had been approved previously but the approval has expired. The commission asked that the property be properly staked in advance of a site visit to be held next month.

The extension is procedural: it preserves the applicant's ability to return with the detailed site plan for review. The commission will review the materials and conduct the planned site visit before taking a final determination on any permit or changes to the previously approved layout.
