Sharon Board reviews MBR, acknowledges clerk retirement, hears public comment and invites school-based health representatives to March meeting

The Sharon Board of Education’s Feb. 9 hybrid meeting included several informational items and community notes:
Business Manager Sam Herrick presented an overview and history of the Minimum Budget Requirement (MBR) and provided a worksheet to help inform the Board’s budget planning. The Board acknowledged receipt of a retirement letter from Board Clerk Cindy Webb.
During public comment Carol Flaton said there was no rush to produce a Long Term plan because a report had been completed the previous April and noted the Board of Education would not be included in the Board of Finance plan. In Board roundtable discussion, Cathy Winburn asked about School-Based Community Health; Superintendent Melony Brady-Shanley said representatives have been invited to the March meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 7:52 PM by motion of Peter Birnbaum, seconded by Nancy Hegy Martin; the motion carried unanimously.
