At its Dec. 15 meeting the Sand Lake Village Council approved a set of routine and substantive items: the consent agenda, two ordinances (a sale of village property and a rezoning), event permits for a Chamber Winter Fest and an ice-fishing contest, and acceptance of a Letter of Intent.
The council approved the consent agenda by roll call: Doerr — yes, Wright — yes, Helton — No, Camilleri — yes, Latham — yes. The council adopted Ordinance 2025-02 (allowing sale of village property) on a roll-call vote of all present members voting yes. Council also approved Ordinance 2025-03 rezoning 15 S. 17th St. and 218 Oak St. from R2 to MFR; that motion carried on a roll call with all present members voting yes.
On events, the Sand Lake Chamber's Winter Fest contingency plan was accepted with a condition that the chamber provide required insurance and a liquor license; the chamber representative agreed to move the event time to 7:00–11:00 p.m. The council also approved an ice-fishing contest event form and fee. A Letter of Intent from Chris Stieg was accepted by motion and carried.
