Sand Lake council approves office renovation, new server and staff assignments

At its June 16 meeting the Village of Sand Lake Council approved several administrative and capital items, including an office reconfiguration, a server purchase, a personnel appointment and improvements to a small village parcel.
The council voted to cap the office building project at $44,220 after reviewing a proposed layout to separate township and village offices. Council member Camilleri moved to proceed with the project with that cap; Christensen supported the motion. The roll call yielded six yes votes and one no from Wright, and the motion carried.
On IT infrastructure, the council authorized spending up to $5,500 to install a separate server and separate internet connection for village use. Council member Wright moved the purchase; Camilleri supported the motion and the vote was unanimous.
The council appointed DPW Supervisor Ryan Shick as the new Street Administrator in a motion by Wright, supported by Camilleri; that appointment passed by unanimous roll call.
Council also discussed Village‑owned parcel 41‑03‑05‑227‑014 (located between Tea’d Up and New Standard) and approved sharing the cost to install a seating area. Christensen moved to share the cost and Camilleri supported the motion; roll call was unanimous.
Other administrative business included increasing the Treasurer’s hours to include Monday (motion by Wright, supported by Christensen; unanimous) and approving Resolution 2025‑08 related to ACH and electronic transfers and a village ACH policy (motions recorded as carried by roll call with unanimous votes).
A separate item reported that the village generator is from the 1960s and parts are no longer available; the council tabled discussion on replacing the generator.
